Margarine vs. Butter? It’s a no brainer!

Margarine can look like butter, is often substituted for butter, but no my friend, it is NOT butter! Margarine tastes nasty…period. I can instantly tell when I’m spreading margarine on my bread because it looks funny and even has a plasticy, fake smell. It has a nasty chemical taste that makes my taste buds angry. Margarine can make even the freshest, warmest, most delicious baked bread taste unpleasant. Do you know the disgusting truth about margarine? Margarine is actually a chemical substance that is made from a process that is terribly unhealthy for humans and animals. That’s why animals or insects wont even eat it, so why do we? Are we that dumb? Not me! I’m going to keep avoiding this stuff at all costs!

Too bad so sad Mr. Turkey! It’s almost turkey time!

Well the time has rolled around again and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It’s a time to give thanks for all you have and most importantly, a time to have a massive dinner with your family. When you think Thanksgiving, you think turkey, the symbol of the holiday. Mmmmm… You can just see it now! A healthy slice of oven roasted turkey smothered in gravy right next to the dinner rolls and stuffing. As people are in the supermarkets searching for that perfect bird to cook for dinner, they probably don’t think twice about what turkeys will go through to complete their feast this year.

Most turkeys served at Thanksgiving are factory raised. This calls for severe mistreatment and high risk for health risks in humans. I’d hate to spoil the holidays, but I really think everyone should know the truth about turkey before you chow down on it at the dinner table. I’m pretty sure that it will change your perception of “turkey time”.

Proposition 37 Fails to Pass in California

Well folks, unfortunately the pitch for GMO labeling didn’t get through. Prop 37 was successfully gained  47 percent of California’s votes, but big company names like Monsanto, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Kellogg, General Mills, DuPont, Bayer and other food and pesticide companies put forth nearly $45 million to fund the “No on Prop 37” campaign, and won. According to Natural News, this same campaign has a criminal complaint filed against it with the FBI. The campaign was linked to an alleged criminal fraud in which it used a fake FDA quote and sent out mailers fraudulently using the FDA seal. Tisk, tisk, tisk!

Be not discouraged people! The battle for GMO labeling has just begun! This fight has spread substantial awareness about GMOs both nationwide and worldwide making people question the idea of GMOs and what exactly is in their food. In due time, our rights will be acknowledged. We are more than 4 million votes closer to victory. Their secret is out and we wont stop until until GMO labeling becomes a law. Monsters are killing people!

I’ve never cared for energy drinks. Sure, I’ve had a few Red Bulls, but the popular energy drink called “Monster” just looks scary to me. That creepy “M” on the black can just makes it look suspect to my well-being.The drink is a 24-ounce carbonated beverage with 240 milligrams of caffeine. That is seven times the amount that is found in a regular 12 ounce soda. Turns out the this ridiculously caffeinated drink has been linked to the death of a 14-year-old girl who died of “caffeine toxicity” after drinking two 24 oz. cans of Monster Energy drink. It has also been linked to the deaths of four other people. The deaths are all currently under investigation of the FDA

According to Livestrong.comMonster Energy drinks provide about 200 calories per 8 oz. The drink is fortified with an abundance of B vitamins, which are helpful for energy metabolism and immune system health.  can. Oh, but there’s more! On top of the mass amounts caffeine, the drink also contains 54 g of sugar. Monster Energy drinks are high in sodium: about 360 mg per can. Both sugar and sodium are related to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, and the American Heart Association recommends limiting both to prevent heart problems. Sounds  pretty bad!

Is your carpet toxic?

Carpet can serve great purposes like keeping your room warm or making it pretty and colorful. “Over 60% of homes in the USA have carpeting” (Natural Living). Children love carpet. Infants crawl on them and people seem to have a thing for that ‘new-carpet smell’. Little do we know, we are being poisoned by the chemicals, allergens and toxic dust in our carpets.

Did you know that your carpet can hold 8 times it’s weight in toxin filled dirt?

According to an article in Natural Living, older carpets are so toxic that your chances of being exposed to hazardous chemicals are 10-50 times higher in a carpeted room than outdoors. If the carpet is plush or shag, your risk increases substantially. Not only do they contain the chemicals banned from more recent production, they also have had years to accumulate pounds of dust mites, dirt, pesticides and other toxins brought in on shoes, feet and pet’s paws.

The article goes on to say that new carpets contain ‘volatile organic compounds’ VOC’s. These include toluene, benzene, formaldehyde, ethyl benzene, styrene, acetone and many other chemicals, some of which have already made the EPA’s list of Extremely Hazardous Substances. P-Dichlorobenzene, a known carcinogen is in new carpets, and there are also chemicals that have shown to produce fetal abnormalities in animals. Hallucinations, nerve damage and respiratory illness are just some of the effects that these chemicals cause in humans. Let’s all say it, “That’s bad for you.” So learn how to reduce your exposure to toxic carpets!

Bill Gates says, “Vaccines reduce population growth…”

In this interview with Sanjay Gupta last Spring on CNN, Bill Gates says some interesting things in regard to vaccines. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is committing 10 billion dollars over the next ten years to get new vaccines out to poor nations around the world. Sounds great at first, but then he says something fishy in his interview…

According to Preventdiesease.com, vaccine ingredients have been known to cause infertility for some time. Two common vaccine ingredients Polysorbate 80 and Octoxynol 10 both have the ability to damage fertility. Baby female rats who were injected with polysorbate 80 at days 4-7 after birth had caused changes to the vagina and womb lining, hormonal changes, ovary deformities and degenerative follicles.

The same article reveals that vaccines also contain detergents like triton X-100, also known as octoxynol 10 which is a known spermicide and has been used in experiments to “strip” sperm so that they are no longer capable of fertilizing an egg.

Final thought: Something isn’t right. This is BAD.

Arsenic in rice? NO!!!!

I love rice! I love it covered with gravy or a stew, fried, steamed, whatever! There’s so many options for rice and its guaranteed to fill you up. Rice makes up the main food source for almost half of the world’s population. It also has various health benefits. No doubt that this is an extremely important crop. It is devastating to know that while I am enjoying fluffy rice, I may be at risk for cancer.

According to an article in Fooducate.com, Arsenic is a naturally occurring element in the soil.  However, inorganic arsenic is found in the soils that were contaminated by arsenic based pesticides and fertilizers, industrial districts or mining areas, municipal waste, or contaminated water. Not all rice is contaminated, however, “76% of all rice grown in the US comes from areas where inorganic arsenic is an issue.” – Fooducate.com

According to the EPA, “the ingestion of inorganic arsenic can lead to cancer of the  skin, bladder, liver, and lung.  There are no studies of low levels long term arsenic exposure in food; however studies relating to low level arsenic exposure  in water have shown increased likelihood of diabetes type II and poor neuro-psychological functioning.” Three letters: B.A.D.

What can you do ?

First, learn how you can reduce your Arsenic intake from eating rice.  Second, sign the petition asking the FDA to regulate arsenic in rice and spread the word to your family and friends! DO NOT wait!

GMOs ARE NOT A JOKE PEOPLE!

Would you spray RAID on your food and eat it? Would you take a medication that has a side effect listed as CANCER? Not likely that you would do such stupid things, but this is what it is like to eat GMOs.

Have you ever thought about why so many people are sick and dying from CANCER? Sure people have been dying of disease for since forever, but in a time of constant advancement and discovery of medicines, cures and remedies that sustain life, why is cancer spreading like wildfire? GMOs are causing cancer in humans at a rapid pace. We are literally being used as lab rats to eat the stuff when it has already been proven to be hazardous to living organisms. You may not understand the severity because this isn’t usually the topic of discussion on most news and media outlets. This is something we must take upon ourselves to get educated, protect ourselves and our future. This is information that EVERYONE should know! Don’t be a victim to GMOs!

Why So Serious?

Side effects of long-term GM food consumption include liver cancer, kidney cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer (for men too), thyroid tumors, Parkinson’s disease, infertility, birth defects, autism and brain tumors. The dreaded diagnosis of cancer has been linked in over 260 studies worldwide to agrochemicals. This stuff is not only bad, but deadly. We need the FDA to regulate and label which foods are genetically modified. We all have a right to know what’s in our food. Help fight for GMO labeling today!

Study shows Americans eat more than their body weight in GMOs every year!

EWG (Environmental Working Group) researchers have found that the average adult in America consumes an average of 193 pounds of GM corn-based products and salad oils every year. Sounds bizarre, but I don’t doubt it. Unless GMO labeling laws like Proposition 37 in California are passed in the  very near future, the biotechnology industry will continue to secretly release more GMOs into the food supply. In the next few decades, in fact, Americans will very likely be subjected to a whole host of new, undisclosed GMOs if mandatory GMO labeling does not become a national standard. This is really bad folks!

Teflon pans are a big no-no!

Teflon, non-stick pans are widely preferred when cooking. People use them because for one, they prevent your food from sticking to the bottom of the pan, preventing ruin of your beautiful food creations. Number two, they minimize the amount of oil needed to sauté your veggies and prevent fast burning. Well sorry cooks, chefs and foodies, Teflon can kill you!Well, eventually. Teflon pans release extremely toxic gasses into the air and into your food. Also little particles from the non-stick coating can get into your food releasing chemicals into your system. The non-stick coating contains PFOA, the same crap used to make those deadly microwave popcorn bags that I posted about a few weeks ago. According to studies, PFOAs cannot be broken down by the environment and can be found in 92% of humans. They can even kill cows if they ingest food or water polluted by it. So here you have it folks! Teflon pans can kill you and they’re definitely bad for you. So you can either take heed, or keep continue cooking away with them. Bon apétit!
